Upon returning from a trip to Italy, I felt reinvigorated to start working on writing projects again. At the same time, and old friend posted on his Facebook page about doing voice work so I reached out about a short story I wrote during the pandemic. I had put it aside as it wasn’t in my usual sci-fi/post-apocalyptic writing genre.
The story, titled Rump Roast, is about a pair of Great Depression-era mobsters who pay a visit to a local butcher and get more than they bargained for. It was inspired by some of the mafia history books I was reading at the time, as well as my appreciation of anthology fantasy/sci-fi/horror/thriller shows like The Twilight Zone, Tales From The Crypt, and Black Mirror.
So thanks to Michael Lovins, my narrator, I now present to you Rump Roast in both print and audio form for your enjoyment.
